NBA Finals Props Spice Up Betting
The NBA Finals is not exactly the Super Bowl when it comes to prop betting.
Football’s marquee event lends itself to hundreds of prop bets and oddsmakers such as bodog seldom disappoint.
However, there are still a number of unique bets that can be made concerning the Boston-Los Angeles final. The most interesting one I came across so far were odds on whether or not the actor Jack Nicholson, who sits courtside for all the Lakers’ home games would draw a technical foul at some point in the series.
The current money line is +2000 at bodog.
Some more conventional bets include the over/under for total games played. Right now under 5 ½ games stands at +195 while over 5 1/2 is at -250. Going along with that bet are the odds for the actual series outcome in terms of games played.
Boston has a money line of +2500 and odds of 22-1 they pull off a four game sweep. If you like Los Angeles’ chances for a four game whitewash the money line is +1000 and odds of 19-2.
The more likely scenario that this series goes the distance has Boston at +500 and odds of 13-2 to win their 18th title in franchise history in seven games. If you think LA takes home a 17th World Title in seven games then your money line would be +275 with odds at 3-1.
The most likely outcome according to the handicappers is the Lakers in six with a money line of +250 and odds of 3-1.
If you really do not care who wins you can just bet on total games played in the series. Four games would be +650, five is +300, six is +180, and seven would be +190.
If you are looking to bet on which team will win Game 1, the Lakers are a 5 ½ point favorite with an over/under line of 192. If you are looking to just place a bet on which team you think wins the entire series, Boston is currently at +160 and Los Angeles is at -180.
One of the more interesting bets is where the 2010 NBA Title will be won. While it does not matter which team wins it all, at +175 you can bet the celebration begins at the TD Garden in Boston or at -215 you can go with the Staples Center in LA.
If you add up all of the odds on these bets they appear to point to one likely outcome; the Lakers will win this series in Game 6 back in LA.
