BCS Odds comparison
Think betting on the BCS at one sportsbooks is exactly the same as betting at every other sportsbook? You better think again. The BCS futures odds on certain teams can differ a lot from book to book causing you to lose out on some profit if your BCS futures pick hits come January.
Even BCS favorite Alabama doesn't have the same odds at every sportsbooks. If were to bet on the Crimson Tide at Bodog or Bet365 you would have to settle for +300 odds at both books. But, if you were to place the same bet on Alabama at SportsInteraction you would in line for more profit on a win on +400 odds.
The same goes for a bet on the Oklahoma Sooners. According to most experts the Crimson Tide and the Sooner are the best bets to meet in the BCS Championship game. If that turns out to be the case you'll probably want to place future bet on both of them. If you're betting on the Sooners you might want to do it at Bodog. At Bet365 the future odds on the Sooners are +333, but at Bodog they're listed at +350. It may not seem like much of a different, but on a winning $200 wager it would end up being an extra $34 in profit.
Alabama and Oklahoma may be the BCS favorite but as we all know that doesn't guarantee they'll actually win. In fact right now the No. 1 team in the nation are the LSU Tigers. If you think the Tigers are worth a BCS futures bet the best odds on them are again at Bodog. Right now the Bodog oddsmakers have the Tigers listed at +500 which pays better than the +450 odds you'll find at Bet365.
Bodog doesn't always have Bet365 beat though. If you want to take a chance on a midrange team like Wisconsin or Stanford then you're best bet is at Bet365. The Badgers, who have a make or break game against Nebraska this weekend, are +750 at Bodog and +900 at Bet365. The Cardinal, led by Heisman favorite Andrew Luck, are +1100 at Bodog and +1200 at Bet365.
