Restoring a reputation for slow-playing in the past, SBG has worked hard to make customer satisfaction a company goal. Generous bonuses, credit card acceptance and longevity make it worth a look.

Bonuses, 9.1 – When you see 295% in bonuses (even after you read the small print ‘up to 295%’), you are thinking this might be too good to be true. But if you deposit a large amount, you can get as much as 60% in bonus in the sportsbook and doubling of your money to play in the casino. Other smaller offers complete the 295% number. There are naturally plenty of rules associated with claiming all these bonuses and some of the rules have caused trouble for both management and players over the years. Still, customers looking for large bonus offers are drawn here. Just study the rules pages as huge bonuses has led to huge problems in the past, not just at this sportsbook, but others that try to market their wares via overly generous incentives.

Customer Service, 8.8 – Fighting legacy battles of unfair dealing allegations in the past, this has not been a problem of late with SBG customers. Live Help, easy-to-remember 1-888 number and a Support Center for registering issues and troubleshooting problems shows excellent potential for self-help.

Odds variety, 8.8 – Solid offering of sports and proposition style wagers. As well, easy access and explanations for bettors wanting to play round robins, teasers, ‘if’ bets and more exotic bet styles. They even a special page set up for UFL wagering odds before the league even came to life officially! We don’t like the lack of prominent entry points to odds menus from the front page and some first-time visitors have reported leaving because they could not find the odds.

Overall Experience, 8.8 – Site is inviting and fairly easy to move around. Bonuses are inviting, however, this has proven a point of contention in the past. All things being equal, the bonuses are compelling. The site offers all main channels of sports, poker, horses and casino and provides a unique loyalty program. Live Help is offered and instantly pushes you into discussion with an operator, unlike other versions that require user names and account details simply to ask a question. Odds assortment is good, content is solid.  

Payment Solutions, 8.8 – Boasting solid credit card acceptance rates and a good lineup of alternative cash and e-check type of solutions, SBG Global has been a leader in this area.

Reputation, 8.0  – Positive activity on the customer service front in recent months has blunted some of the past negative publicity surrounding SBGGlobal.com. The Costa-Rica based company was one of the online sportsbook pioneers back in 1995-96, and many early online bettors had an SBG account. But its early days were also plagued by complaints of dishonest practices. Of late, only one major complaint (of cancelled future bets after players hit a long shot) has been forum fodder. Acquired BetRoyal.com in 2008, this was a book of dubious distinction.

Software, 8.6 – Running a proprietary software platform called Mercedes, was formerly run on a family of related sportsbooks, but now operates solely on SBG and sister site sports-gambling.com.  Display of lines is well thought-out and functional and there have been no obvious complaints stemming from the operation of the sportsbook.

Stability/License, 8.6 – Based in Costa Rica and owned by SBG Euro Ltd. UK, the company is not a license holder since that country stopped issuing them. In terms of longevity, few top sportsbooks can beat SBG as they were one of the Internet trailblazers.

TSB Experience, 8.6 – Members of TopSportsbooks.com have experienced limited interaction with SBGGlobal in the past, but that has changed in 2009. Members are gaining some insights into the company and meeting some of the key personnel and we expect this growth to continue. All of the current relationships – whether as agency or vendor status – are in good standing and up to date.

Website , 9.1 – Professional site with good sports stats content offering and well-laid out sections that make navigation simple. The focal point of bonuses is highlighted and this has long been an attractive part of being an SBGGlobal.com customer. Easy access to sportsbook, casino, poker room and racebook. A Loyalty Store allows customers to accumulate points towards electronic equipment, poker entries, magazines and SBG Global caps and graft. Their 1-888-BET-EASY is easy-to-remember toll-free support number.
