Site enjoyed renaissance after acquisition by CRIS group, leaving customer service issues far behind it. Suffered collateral damage when Bookmaker reputation took hit in 2011.

Bonuses, 8.8 – Bonuses mirror the Bookmaker format with 20% signup perk and 10% reload offers as well as a free pager. There is a BetPoints rewards/loyalty program where players accumulate bonus points regardless of which channel they play in. DSI has also offered a 1% cashback affiliation with Moneybookers, which is worth exploring as well.

Customer Service, 8.7 – *Downgrade May 2011 over concerns with vendor and advertiser unfair practices. Live Help and a round-the-clock commitment to phone support make DSI (like its parent) one of the best in the business in terms of customer support and satisfaction. Toll-free numbers from various locales are laid out clearly and there is a comprehensive FAQ section as well as a DSI Glossary to help users answer the basic questions. Customer service is one of the new DSI’s hallmarks

Odds variety, 8.5 – Again, mirroring its parent odds in terms of variety, DSI offers independent sports lines that are seldom exactly the same. The variety is not among the best in international sports, but you again enjoy the early odds and sharp lines associated with Bookmaker/CRIS. Unlike some other sportsbook families that use the identical lines, it can make sense for a sports bettor to have both a BookMaker and DSI account to take advantage of differing odds.

Overall Experience, 8.5 – The hectic front page notwithstanding, the site, game play and payout efficiency makes for a truly solid user experience. The odds are varied and differentiate themselves from the CRIS lines and a generous assortment of bonuses and loyalty program perks add spice for the customer. Then there is the comfort level – connection with the most trusted online sportsbook operator – that the games are fair and the winnings will be paid.

Payment Solutions, 8.5 – Again, the backing, technology and payment processing savvy of the parent group is a great advantage for DSI. A select few online sportsbooks rate higher than DSI in this category as they enjoy industry-leading status through their affiliations. Again, downgraded over vendor and advertiser complaints of arbitrary changes to marketing and partnership arrangements.

Reputation, 8.4  – * Downgrade .3 in 2011. Has been a rocket ride of credibility since moving under the umbrella of the CRIS family of sportsbooks but suffered bit of relapse in 2011 when Bookmaker was rocked in forums with complaints from advertisers and vendors. A book that in 2002-2003 was the subject of serious allegation and myriad problems has been steadily rehabbing its image. Some rating services have them on par with their parent/affiliated brands, we have them climbing into that echelon with continued steady improvement and service.

Software, 9.0 – Running a DGS backend like its parent, DSI players enjoy the use of a solid and reputable platform for their games. Digital Gaming powers industry giants like Bookmaker.com and enjoys the respect that comes with it. Casino, poker and racebook are all connected here, making for a consistent and sustained user experience.

Stability/License, 8.8 – Based in Costa Rica, and housed in the aforementioned CRIS building in San Jose, BetDSI is a longtime player in the online space (and its start actually came as an offline operation). No longer a gaming license holder since Costa Rica stopped issuing them, the company is nonetheless on solid ground through its affiliation with the CRIS group. Whereas the early incarnations of BetDSI.com were far from stable, this edition is rock solid. However, they rate a bit beneath the best due to transgressions of the past. The more time and space that DSI puts between its new self and its old self, the better they will be and the higher their rank will climb.

TSB Experience, 8.1 – Limited experience with TopSportsbooks.com member firms, as the bulk of activity in this area has been conducted with CRIS and Bookmaker. More work has been done for and with BetDSI.com in recent years and there have been no issues associated with any of those relationships. Given recent events involving the parent company, there would be concerns with any shop that changes rules and conditions mid-stream with little or no advance warning.

Website , 9.0 – Extremely busy front page which, while providing access to all key points of the site, can potentially overwhelm a new visitor. Some improvements and color changes to highlight bonus, signup or content offerings would bolster the first impression the site makes on a visitor. The Odds pockets pop open in a new window, which is not the optimal presentation and detracts from the flow of the site. Still, all the great bonuses, entry points to various wagering channels are represented.
