betED Sportsbook Review
Bonuses, 9.1 – 15% signup bonus plus another unique perk if your first sportsbook bet is a win comprise a solid bonus structure for new players. Up to 10% reload bonus on subsequent bonuses is the industry standard. $50 win bonus on new accounts is a nice perk for new customers.
Customer Service, 8.8 – Absence of Live Help detracts from the experience here, although there are fairly exhaustive FAQ sections for self-helpers. Phone support has been in place but bettors experienced some troubles with phone service in 2009. All in all, customer support seems to be solid with few complaints.
Odds variety, 9.0 – Solid complement of North American-based sports along with MMA and Entertainment Prop odds selections. Lacks the international flavor of some popular overseas sports such as cricket, rugby and soccer offering is modest by comparison but the layout and availability is decent.
Overall Experience, 8.8 – Site is slick, albeit a bit hectic and the UMatch Fantasy PointSpread game for NFL and NBA is a nice customer perk. Payment side has worked effectively and the unlimited free payouts remains a key consideration for bettors. The content offering is solid, making for a respectable overall user engagement. The ability to deposit easily and get paid quickly are both significant pros to the overall picture. The single-wallet from sports to casino is clean and the casino is a no-download version, which appeals to many bettors.
Payment Solutions, 8.8 – Very few complaints in terms of depositing or payouts. Unlimited free payouts is one of the industry-leading features of the site. Solid acceptance of online checks is also convenient for clients.
Reputation, 8.5 – Relatively new player in the market, arrived on the scene in 2003 with an ownership group and its own software platform (GreatBet.com was predecessor brand). Boasts relatively clean record in terms of customer service but lacks the longevity of other top sportsbooks to establish a higher rating. Has been effective on payment processing
Software, 8.9 – ThrillX is the company’s proprietary software and seems to work well. It is untested as a long-term proposition and BetED.com is the lone licensor of the software. There are very few comments pro or con with it, so if it ain’t broke….
Stability/License, 8.9 – Domiciled in Costa Rica, and owned by Great Bet Gaming Systems, BetED.com earns a tepid rating in this category, owing to the fact it has been in place since only 2003 and since TopSportsbooks.com officials have experienced limited interaction with them. We have no reason to doubt their stability however we do not have the track record with them to elevate them among the best in this important category.
TSB Experience, 8.4 – Limited experience with TopSportsbooks.com members, in part due to its relatively short time online and the fact it manages much of its ad, design and content features in-house. The limited involvement has been productive and professional in nature and a senior manager there has taken it upon himself to make sure any and all questions are answered quickly.
Website , 9.0 – Lively website with nice flash pockets but quite busy and a bit overwhelming to the user. Clear delineation of sportsbook, casino and poker channels, but lacks a racebook. Clubhouse section contains some quality writing and site offers standard stats package for user research. Some minor oversights that detract from the overall quality and professionalism of the site include failure to update the main Sportsbook page (which proclaimed ‘NBA Finals are now on!’ well into July and long after the Lakers had been crowned champions. While small, it points to some lack of detail and QA, although other sites have been guilty of the same during the summer months.
